Don’t be fooled…not all SPUN POLYESTER table linen is the same. In fact, many of the SPUN napery products on the market today don’t contain MJS yarns (short for Murata Jet Spun) at all! MJS yarn construction was the driving force behind the linen rental industry’s conversion from Filament polyester to Spun in the past decade plus. Apex by Pinnacle is a MJS/Filament product hybrid that combines the advantages of both MJS and Filament yarns. Apex is MJS in the Warp or vertical direction and Filament in the Fill or Horizontal direction. The MJS yarns provide for superior wicking, hand and starch retention; the Filament yarns provide extra durability and stain release characteristics. The result is a 6.4 ounce/square yard fabric that mimics cotton but launders like iron! Beginning in 2007, Pinnacle began using Scotchgard™ Stain Protector as its preferred soil release on all Apex brand table napery. Scotchgard™ is widely known for is superior stain lifting ability. See the results of our independent testing below. In 2009, Pinnacle introduced with Smart Soft Technology. Apex + provides for an enhanced, softer feel, while at the same time nearly eliminating residual lint and pilling (a negative trait of products that have been sanded or brushed for added softness). Apex + is only available in napkin sizes. Quality Features Include: - Color coded size labels sewn in opposite corners
- Lock-stitched hems using 7-8 stitches per inch
- Combined absorbency and soft hand of Murata Air Jet Spun (MJS Polyester) technology with soil release benefits of filament polyester
- Durable, soil release fabric treated with Scotchgard™
- Superior performance
The Facts About Soil Release: The initial fact that Polyester is a good stain release product goes undisputed. And almost all brands in the marketplace today have an added "soil release" treatment to further improve this attribute. Further, filament products or those hybrids that contain filament in the fill direction, will generally rate higher on most soil release testing than the all spun products. In a 2008 independent test conducted by Intertek Testing, we noted the following results (1=Lowest, 5-Highest): | Soil Release | Apex | Leading Domestic Brand | | Cooking Oil | 5.0 | 5.0 | | Lipstick | 1.5 | 1.5 | | Ketchup | 4.5 | 4.5 | | Wine | 5.0 | 5.0 | | Food | 5.0 | 5.0 |
As you can see, Apex performed exactly the same as a leading domestic brand's fabric, except in price. Pinnacle Textile's line up of Apex & Apex+ table linen brands provide our customers with equal and in some cases superior performance to that of nationally recognized brands at a savings of 20%, 30% even 40%! However, the real test is how the products perform in YOUR LAUNDRY.
Apex and Apex+ have quickly become trusted brands for their durability, high performance, rental grade and price. We invite you to try our spun table linen, aprons and uniforms. Call us today and experience, Service at its Peak!
